The start-up Athana
Since 2024, Athana no longer offers a unique product, but several natural solutions for the well-being of people.
The story of a mother and a son
Thaddée and his mother. It is from this story that the idea and the mission to find a non-invasive solution to treat his mother was born.
The Athana start-up was born in 2022, founded by Thaddée Caron.
It all started when he saw his mother suffer from hot flashes due to menopause. He looked into the effects and sought to understand the deep causes.
Seeking a way to relieve his mother's pain, he immersed himself in books, articles and webinaries to find solutions. Hormonal treatments, although commonly proposed, had many side effects. Opposed to the idea of "contaminating" the body with potentially dangerous substances, Thaddée believed that women should have the opportunity to relieve themselves without compromising their health.
He tested several approaches, based on plants and diets, but some results were encouraging, no method allowed rapid relief of symptoms. It was then that he realized that the cold was one of the most effective remedies, but difficult to access outside a freezer. However, heat puffs being unpredictable, this was not a practical solution.
This is how Thaddée had the idea of conceiving an "ice cube" that does not melt. By founding a startup around this concept intended to help women suffering from hot flashes, it quickly attracted the interest of partners and investors.
This is how Athana was born.
The research has been launched and Thaddée, with his team, manages to design this famous "electronic ice cube". Cryotherapy then becomes the heart of the development of the Athana product. After many tests, both internally and with the first users, the product is proven.
Athana files its patents regarding its compact cryotherapy cooling technology. The "ice cube" was officially born.
Quickly, development draws the attention of media and investors, and Athana was growing. The product brings real relief, and women affected by heat puffs share their experience around them.
Thaddée has thus found its way, a mission which, after years of research and efforts, finally bears its fruit: rethinking well-being in a non-invasive manner.
With this first technology based on cryotherapy, the founder now explores other natural remedies to help people suffering daily, often confronted with invasive treatments. It is in this context that Athana and her investors acquired Moona, a pillow regulating the temperature, as well as Luna, a belt designed to relieve menstrual pain.
Athana is no longer simply a product, but a set of wellness solutions offering non-invasive alternatives. Its flagship product, now renamed Hera, marks a turning point. Athana becomes a French group redefining well-being in an ethical and innovative way.
Inspired by powerful names from the gods and goddesses, Athana continues to expand her solutions, in the ambition to build a community committed to well-being, mutual aid, and the lifting of taboos. And this is only the start of surprises that Athana has in store for you!
